Retiro Station, Buenos Aires. In the middle of a drizzle, 3 boys try to watch the opening of the World Cup in Korea and Japan through the window of a pizzeria, but they are thrown out. The Argentina-Nigeria match is in a couple of days. Arriving at the villa, the young people make a strange pact which, when the time comes, they will see the game in colors, and they will do it together or separately, at all costs. From that moment on, each of the 3 will do this pact with different consequences.

Loved this movie - a little gem!
I saw this at the Portland Latin American Film Festival where the director, Ezio Massa, was in attendance, introducing the film and following with a Q&A. In reading the synopsis, I thought I was in for a very small 'cute' movie about the boys' tracking down a TV to watch the game on. Instead, what I saw was a deep, delicately written and superbly-acted film. We were fortunate to have the director there for a Q&A following the film and were able to learn a lot more about this great little gem. Many of the actors were kids local to the barrio that the film was shot in. Maybe this is why their characters felt so genuine (particularly the youngest boy). That the director was able to give us a close-up view into this world without altering it is really remarkable. Bravo!
