Andrew is a real loner. He works as an illustrator at a news paper and his life is pretty okay. But he has one big problem. He is shy. Very shy. Especially with girls. Andrew moves to a small town way up north to isolate himself from the rest of the world. One day he runs into the lovely Sannah. She gets quite curious about this man, who is not like anyone she's ever met before. She soon finds out it's hard to get to know him, or even to get nearby him! Andrew is infatuated with Sannah and fantazises about her but believes there's no chance she will like him if she gets to know him, so he decides it's better they never meet for real...

Fresh approach
It's nice to know that it is possible to make a genuinely interesting romantic comedy even if the budget is limited. Also, there is a fresh approach here with the woman trying to attract the attention of the man. Lina Englund in particular is really good here as the "doomed-to-be-single" Sanna. And Eric Donell too, playing the shy André who suffers from Tourette's syndrome, thus believing that nobody could ever fall for him. Also, it is nice to see other parts of Sweden than central Stockholm. The last couple of years have seen a decentralizing of filmmaking in Sweden and I hope this can continue - as long as the movies do not become marketing for the local board of tourism.

I caught this smart and cute little film on an SAS Flight from Stockholm to Chicago and found it to be absolutely outstanding from beginning to end. This film continues in a long line sensitive and delightful Swedish films, such as "Mit Liv Som Hund" (My Life as a Dog) and "Fanny and Alexander", which thrive on the strength of the storyline and characters, as opposed to Hollywood special effects and visuals. Andre moves from Stockholm to the small little Northern Swedish town of Lycksele to get some peace of mind and his life back together after the death of his parents. Andre is also horribly inept with women and is about ready to give up on women all together. His move to Lycksele brings unexpected luck however as Lycksele's own single beauty Sannah is taken by his artistic and unorthodox ways. Sannah takes it upon herself to get to know this silent and private new man in town and more or less does everything in her power to get Andre to realize that he is ready for love with a woman and not a bumbling fool. As Andre slowly realizes this and stops fighting it, he gains confident and happiness in life as he shares it with Sannah in Lycksele, lucky Lycksele. However a cruel trick and twist of fate threatens to tear apart Andre and Sannah's new-found love. Andre moves back to Stockholm and Sannah must go to Stockholm to attempt to win back Andre's love and realize her mistake. But is it too late? Is Andre ready for real love or is he still too un-sure of himself? The ending is great and everyone will applaud this beautiful movie. A perfect couple's date film, cuddle up with your sweetheart and watch it, you wouldn't regret it!

best swedish movie since jalla jalla, the story is backwards, when the girl is the person that shows her interest in a man,the leading rolles is magnificient, i was so amazed of the exelent story, me and my friend was realy realy suprized,aswell amused, this movie ought to be rewarded in a movie contest
Tick Rock Tick Rock
...While front loading a film with high intensity fast-paced action sequences does not a film make, this film is sorely in need of a pulse. He likes her, she likes him, so what's the big deal? In Sweden, nothing is ever allowed to come easy, especially something as intimate and strange as romantic love. So the audience is treated to a series of near encounters and purposeful avoidances which, it would seem, would drag on infinitely were the filmmakers given the green light. Highly recommended if you are curious what its like to try and meet Swedish people (esp. in Sweden). High mark for the actors, fumbling over words, darting eyes, staring at the floor, and biting lips. Tedious, almost to the point of breaking.
