A Film I Grew Up On
Honestly, I believe there should be a soundtrack for this movie. I remember singing the songs when I was little. This is the sweetest movie for both kids and adults who enjoy Jim Henson. I do not want to give away anything, but I will simply say that despite the main characters being bunny puppets, they still teach us about confidence and how to get along with everybody. Sounds hokey (and probably is), but it always made me happy to watch.
Not Bad...
I guess I'm a bit bias as a person who wants to work for Jim Henson's company one day but its a good film. I was watching it again today and decided to look it up on IMDb and was stunned to see that it was from 1986. The puppetry is flawlessly executed and its appearance is timeless. The story is a bit childish but hey we need more family friendly movies in an age where if a movie doesn't have sex or violence it loses its audience. Since the film is in the tradition of most Henson films (with the exception of the first three and the final Muppet movie.) it looks very much like a fantasy. Though made for children I'm 20 and was still mildly amused when I watched it again. And I agree that if you see this one on DVD or VHS pick it up.
A pure classic.
I loved this movie so much growing up. I watched it at least twice a week. It ranks right up there with the all time children's movies like Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas, Nester the Longeared Donkey and the like. This movie had characters you can never forget. Like Bean, or the dog that was pretty much the dumbest dog you'd ever seen. But also the sweetest. The colors and music...even now I want to watch twice a week. Maybe more if I didn't have to work. It's hard to find this now, though. But if you do, get it and watch it....twice a week....just for me. A great family film for any collection. You never get tired of Jim Henson.....anyone have any Tylenol?
Funny, touching and tearful. Gotta love it!!!!!
This is the funniest movie ever made. The chemistry and connection between Bean and the dog is incredible. An inspiring movie about what one little bunny can accomplish with the help of his friends. THe farmer gets what he deserves. A must see movie for the whole family.
memorable
This film is great - one of Jim Henson's best. I saw it several years ago and can still remember it so clearly. The bunny rabbit Bean is so cute and by far the best character: my younger brother adopted that as his nickname after seeing the film. Its great for kids - but fun for adults too.
