Snap, Crackle, and Pop are top dogs in the Eastsidaz gang in Long Beach. Pop, also known as Killa, is the alpha dog. He has Crackle and Snap set up a big drug deal that's going to put him on easy street. But Crackle and Snap have their own agenda: they kill the suppliers, take a suitcase of money, and set up Killa to take the fall. Stuck in the state pen in Chino, Killa has his gang figure out what really happened while he hatches an escape plan. Meanwhile, Crackle has kidnaped Killa's sweetie, Booboo, and the government has confiscated his assets. Can Killa Pop escape Chino, rescue Booboo, exact revenge, find the loot, and elude the police?

First of all salute to snoop 4 this laugh a minute gangsta flick. Quite possibly 'tha' greatest gangsta comedy i have ever seen. At least I believe this film is meant to be a comedy, otherwise I feel extremely sorry for snoop and 'tha' eastsidaz. The plot is the first big joke of the film.Snoop is framed by a fellow eastsida and is sent to a penitentiary charged with the murder of a group of Jamaicans. Somehow his 'Angels'(an absolute comedy group, who use extreme language and 'smoke fools')manage to send him a book of speeches(Malcolm X's speeches, seeing the book snoop's cellmate comes out with an absolute classic comment)which when washed in warm water, sheds its paint and is actually a large amount of American moohla. Instead of being sensible and buying his way out of prison, snoop chooses the most imaginative and unrealistic methods of busting out i have ever heard. No Snoop does not climb down a lavatory, but this scenario would quite possibly be more interesting. Snoop uses a piece of cheesewire (bought with the hard cash from a cellmate to escape. The acting is as bad as the storyline and the BIG JEFFERY cameo is the most annoying part of any part of any film ever. Though parts of the film are absolutely classic, obviously the assault in a grocery store, others are just plain lacking. The film Gets a 10 for comedy value, but a 2 for storyline. The film is a sour reminder of all revenge movies. Snoop is hellbent on revenge and the man who framed him has the higher bounty, snoops wife. The whole film is a mess but if you can buy it for under a fiver, I strongly advise this title. For comedy entertainment, Tha eastsidaz exceeds all.
Did a cameraman just follow Snoop around without him knowing it?
The basic premise of "Tha Eastsidaz" is Snoop Dogg and friends sitting about smoking weed. Then Snoop goes to jail and when he breaks out he kills a bunch of white people. The sound and picture quality are awful...which gets me to wondering if a cameraman, unbeknowest to the S man, followed him around for a week or two. Only upside to this is the rapping and seeing Snoop smoke blunts like a madman. I mean who would pay to see this... oh wait i did. Blast me and my illogical movie choices. I instead should have rented "The Voyage of Mimi." Ben Afflek for life. Also check out "Bones" (I havn't seen it but if you like this crap, then your sure to love it)
This movie is has all the film cliches and is rather funny.
The movie itself is really bad. The production is so bad it's funny. It was made with some sort of home video camera. The movie had some very ridiculous scene's that dont have anything to do with the movie. The actors were a little bad although it's because their rappers which is excusable. It was going in the right direction but they made it a little serious. The movie has all cliches of any book or movie. Dont read ahead if you if you are sure to see the movie or I might spoil it. It has the whole framing, busting out of jail and last and bluntely taking vengance on the person that was most trusted, it even has a very bad excuse for a comedy releif. It looks like some low budget Chinese movie with their simple plots. If you are a big fan of Tha Eastsidaz then watch it but you like snoop but not enough then you will hate it. If you dont like snoop dog at all, which is very unlikely please stay the as far away from this movie. They should try again and this time make lighten it up a bit.
eastsidaz is lame stereotypical and offensive
The Eastsidaz was probably the weakest movie I've ever seen. The story, which could be ok if not speckled with lame drug refrences and the atroutious naming of snap crackle and pop (ha, not funny), is weak contrived and filled with holes. The acting and production quality of this film is far below that of modern pornography. The over use of cussing in the script writing and the contrived dialect, which seems almost to stereo typical to be real, is sickening if not offensive. I think any young "punk" with a VHS or HI-8 camera and minimal editing skills that failed english in high school could write, direct and find better actors for a film. I'd personnaly suggest staying as far away from this flaming pile as possible. In short if you'd like to see bad camera work, bad acting and bad writing, without risking lending your kids the camcorder, rent or buy this film. Ernest goes to prison, with it's lame, yet similair wrong person in prison premise, is more worth your time, and won't insult your intelligence as much.
Not a good film, but you can still enjoy it if that's what you're expecting
Sure this movie has bad acting moments, weak production, poor shootouts and looks like a home video, but if you start watching it knowing this you should get some enjoyment out of it. If you still don't it's understandable though. Those who aren't fans of Snoop Dogg will most likely never like this movie because of the reasons above and the fact that there are a considerable amount of rappers acting in it, fans may hate it too, but the later should give it a try. There are some funny moments (some intentional and some not) it has a reasonably original plot and some good music. Overall it is a movie not to be taken seriously. It can be compared to Blaxploitation movies like Dolemite. You have to understand that it's not a good film, but you can still enjoy it if that's what you're expecting. But definitely rent it first.
