Spoof Movie...if only
If it was a spoof movie caricaturing action movies it would've been OK...unfortunately it isn't.This movie has the rare ability of kicking your habit for enjoying movies in general. The acting is awful and predictable, the lines are delivered with no real emotion or tension. One of the most annoying aspects, to me at least, are the dialogues. You feel as if they are cut-outs from the collection of "the crappiest movies in history of movie making"...and that is matched by the equally, if not more, annoying soundtrack. The pace of the movie feels forced and the logical sequence doesn't make any sense. Do not let me start on the plot or the lack of one. It is almost as if it had been written by a 3 year old (no offense intended to 3 year olds - they would probably do a better job). Billy Zane does bring some stability to the whole thing but not enough to save it. His acting is probably the only aspect that make it worth to even consider watching this one. All in all in comparison, you would probably spent your time more usefully sitting for two hours in front of a blank screen... Hope you enjoy it...
Unlogical even for an action movie
OK, so as usual I checked out IMDb before watching this movie, to see what I was up for. I read the first comment that appeared and took it to be a spoof of some sort. Then is started watching the movie and realized that it actually takes itself seriously. So next I assumed it would somehow be so bad, that it was funny again (which is the only reason I ever watch horror movies). Well, what can I say? I was wrong. There are a few scenes that will get you to chuckle a little, but nothing really funny. Without any comedy to speak of, you are left with an action movie, and that's where the problems really start. To sum up the movie, all I can think of is that none of the character's decisions after entering the house even remotely make any sense. To start with, the movie is set in Germany and everyone is American. That much would still fall within your normal action movie inaccuracies, but from that point it just rapidly goes downhill. I can't comment more on the details without spoilers, but take my word for it, nothing makes sense. So the only reason to watch this movie would be if you're hanging out with some friends and enjoy making fun of movies for their horrible plots (which I know to be a fun activity at times).
Awful, cheesy, don't waste your time!
Billy Zane must really be feeling the pinch if he has to take movies like this! I can't remember that last time I saw acting this bad. Zane, himself was not too bad BUT the other two, and especially "Nick" was appalling. Its not an original plot, and there was an opportunity here to make an exciting film.....but failed! Initially, I had no idea of the country this was supposed to be set in....mainly because the actors accents were all over the place. The police, or whoever they were meant to be came across as a mercenary outfit led by an American. It was all too "make believe", completely ruined by atrocious acting. If you have nothing better to watch, then be advised......this will disappoint.
Too unclear, even for a sci-fi
Boyfriend and Girlfriend wakes up in the backseat of their car. When they start talking and by the way they are behaving, it's so unbelievable unnatural that we get the impression they are simply insane. Then it shows that it's not only them but most of the characters in this movie. They look like humans and even some of what they are saying are similar to human conversations, but the lack of logic and all strange behaviour concludes they must be alien, a bit like the movie 'the Invation'. There are some human characters, I guess, a psycho-killer Victor, played by Billy Zane. And maybe Nadine, but she's in a state of shock after witnessing Victor's terrifying execution of her family. There is also a policeman that desperately tries to stop his chief from killing innocent people. A lot of strange situations and dialogs are really scary because there sometimes is such a fine line between schizophasias and just really stupid conversations. It could almost seem like the worse b-movie dialog, written by 6-8 years old, just much worse. When the couple accidentally kills a policeman, they are hiding in a house owned by a rich doctor and his family. A swat team come for them, so they take a prisoner. Much of the movie is about this conflict. They are also "surprised" by finding the family murdered, and their prisoner being somewhat unpredictable even for a human. But the movie is way too unclear when it comes to the how-why-whats. The title must be referring to hiding in human bodies.
Good idea badly executed !
The premise of this movie is pretty good. Boyfriend and girlfriend on the run from the police seek refuge in a big house by a lake. Unbeknowns to them the person they mistake for the house owner is in fact a serial killer who has just offed most of the family (there is a stray daughter holed up in a cupboard and still alive) and the police outside turn out to be the least of their problems. It ain't gonna win any awards, Billy Zane as the psychotic serial killer turns in a decent enough performance - but he hardly breaks into a sweat. One to watch after a Friday night at the pub.
