While trying to avoid an obsessed girl, rocker Drake Parker meets a young girl, who makes him promise to give her family the best Christmas ever. Later, at the Premiere's first ever Christmas party, a group of teens start to make trouble. Concerned, Josh, Drake's stepbrother, calls the cops about a disturbance, but they are confused and think the entire party is the disturbance, and even arrest the kind Josh. Requiring Josh's help to keep his promise, Drake tries to break his brother out of prison, but is caught. At court, the judge decides that the two must give the girl and her foster family the best Christmas ever, or face years in jail. They face many problems along the way, including Officer Perry, a strict detective that hates Christmas; a colorful group of foster children; and a wild wood chipper. It is up to Drake and Josh to save Christmas for the good-hearted children, or face the consequences.

Rather Disappointed
Big fan of the show since it came out five years ago, and the first two TV movies were great. But this? It's different. It wasn't really very funny; I laughed maybe five times. The humor was over the top at times and tried too hard to be funny; unlike the show, it just wasn't in a lot of scenes. Josh Peck just isn't Josh Nichols anymore; he not only looks different but IS different. The plot was unbelievable in most instances, and not overly creative. While other Drake and Josh movies/the TV show didn't try to make you learn a lesson, one thing that's nice about them since a lot of kid's TV shows do, this movie definitely did. And the ending was just kind of cheesy, honestly. But, it was Drake and Josh, and seeing both of them together again on screen was kind of nice. They still have that great on screen chemistry that helps pull this movie together. Josh still has his wonderful spazzy moments, and Drake is still an obnoxious, self centered jerk at times. Worth a watch if it's on TV or somewhere, but I wouldn't say buy it. It definitely disappointed me, as I was looking forward to more of the Drake and Josh that you just don't get here.
Not what you'd expect from Drake & Josh.
I'll be honest, I was pretty surprised and excited when I saw they were making a "Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh". We never really experienced a series finale, so they sort of ended the show in an odd way. To get the point, I'm not impressed. It just, it wasn't Drake & Josh! The directing and script just didn't have the same feel as the series. I wouldn't blame the mostly bad acting as much as I would blame the script. The story was just terrible to say the least. There was no Drake & Josh comedy that we were used to, unless you are 7 years old. I have friends that are 18+ and they got a kick out of the series, but it seemed they were aiming this to very little kids, yet at the same time throwing in bits and pieces that would make no sense to children. I don't want to give away any spoilers by fully explaining some of the characters, but I will say a majority of the actors were horrible actors. I know a lot of people will say, "But they were just kids", well so was Miranda and she was a fantastic actress. I don't know, maybe I'm a hater and I expect nothing but thumbs down, but I'm a long time Drake & Josh fan. I watched it from the start and never stopped, but "Merry Christmas, Drake and Josh" completely disappointed me.
Good Movie, Different, but still funny.
This was a pretty funny movie. the reason a lot of people didn't like was it wasn't drake and josh funny. It was Family Guy funny (not as good tho). But so what, family guy rocks. So did this movie. there were like 30 times you could say "that's what she said". Plus so many things they did were just laughable and the story was pretty good. I liked it because the time flew by when you were watching it. Then you always know your in for a good movie. I thought it was better than Drake and Josh Go To Hollywood, but not as good as Drake and Josh Really Big Shrimp. However there were quite a few flaws that didn't quite kill the movie, but if these flaws weren't present who knows how good it could have been? For example I think Crazy Steve is one of if not they funniest character in Drake & Josh and while he did appear in the movie, he wasn't that funny. The actor plays "Spencer" in ICarly and he is much funnier in that. Also some the jokes that were clearly meant to be HYSTERICAL were just stupid. The studio audience went crazy and you were left to say WTF? Overall it was funny but Drake and Josh is a legendary sitcom and could have done waaaaay better especially since this is a movie and not a TV show. If It's on watch it but don't pay money for it unless you really like Drake & Josh.
Do not go by other comments...It's fun!
I had seen the comments here before watching the movie. Some people here bashed this movie as not funny, some others have said it was OK. But I went ahead and watched the movie, and to my not-so-surprise, I found the movie very funny. I had many laughs. Thoroughly enjoyable movie. Drake and Josh are back! The movie starts with Drake and Josh planning their Christmas, and then there is this Christmas Party. A Santa(Drake), A girl who is an orphan. This girl asks Drake for "the best Christmas ever". An emotional Drake promises that. You can break a Christmas Promise! You just cannot! And the rest of the story is all about how Drake and Josh try to make this Best Christmas ever happen.
I expected better
Its just one of those things that you'll think will be real good but come out like a disappointment. Merry Christmas, Drake and Josh is an example of that...I thought this movie would be really goods but it wasn't that great. It was decent at best. There are many flaws and weird things with the movie. The parents weren't in it much and Megan wasn't really their. She wasn't serve much to do compared to the shows. I also found funny things that Drake and Josh have said. The kids were really annoying and the plot was very weird. Trying to give a little girl the best Christmas ever because of Drake's promise to her. That's a little odd but still turn out okay. I like the effect they used and sorta the scenes with Josh in jail, that was cool. overall its get a 5/10 from me...HAHAH
