• Fast paced...

  Chances are that if you like the Jackie Chan style of movies that you will find "Kung Fu Man" (aka "Kung Fu Hero") enjoyable as well, because it is in the same category. The movie is fast paced, action-packed and fun for the entire family. The story is about a boy having been kidnapped who happen to end up with Ping, a local storekeeper. Unable to communicate with one another and with the kidnappers in hot pursuit, Ping is trying to return the boy back to his parents. As to be expected, the storyline opens up for a fast paced cat-and-mouse-chase across the town in which where Ping lives. And directors Ying Ning and Cheung-Yan Yuen managed to put together not only a good story, but also an action-packed ride for the audience to enjoy. Tiger Chen (playing Ping) and Mengjie Jiang (playing the English teacher in the town) did good jobs with their given parts. And I will say that Tiger Chen also is quick on foot and has some impressive martial arts skills. Arman Darbu (playing Christopher) was a nuisance with his constant screaming. If you like Asian martial arts and a good wholesome family-appealing movie then you should perhaps give "Kung Fu Man" a chance. I found it by sheer random chance and I was genuinely surprised with the movie. I found it entertaining in a manner similar to Jackie Chan movies.

  I can not explain in words how life changing this film was. The artistic imagery and masterful cinematography combine to form the greatest, most emotional film experience of the century. Enter the Dragon can take a back seat to this amazing thrill ride. If every day of my life could be as great as the moment I started watching this movie, I would sell all of my possessions, become Buddhist, and die a happy man. I will pass this movie down to my grandchildren's grandchildren, and the chase scene will be played at my funeral. People will weep, but not for me.. only for the great courage and amazing car-lifting strength of.. KUNGFU MAN. The gracious gods of YouTube auto-play reached into my life and showered me with the gifts of Kungfu Man. My only regret is that I will never be able to see it for the first time again.

  I have so many questions about this movie.. So, they kidnap a kid, and demand 10 million dollars, and they recruit half of China to find this kid when he goes missing. 4 of them knows kung fu, the rest are useless - and yet NONE of them EVER gets knocked out. The first to get knocked out was the bodyguard of all people. So many acting mistakes, I can't even begin to count them. I am slightly impressed with the fighting choreography, but it's not great. Like, why won't the kid shut up? His screams are the most annoying thing I have heard this year. Even when he's supposed to be quiet, he screams. As the poster before me pointed out, he's screaming "HERE I AM" to the kidnappers.

• Shut the kid up!

  I think my experience with this film is colored by my low tolerance of kicking my seat non-stop on a flight. This kid totally reminds me of that, worse than the damsel in distress screams. The kid somehow always stands where he is most vulnerable to capture and screams non-stop to attract attention to himself. You'd think by the 10th time this happens the kid would start learning. But sadly, no, he screams to the end of the movie. The fight choreography is pretty good. Lots of usage of urban environments, obstacle fighting a-la Jacky Chan. I can't identify the fighting style, but looks similar to the Taichi/wing-chun combination that seems to popular these days. Typical of kung-fu films in modern setting, there is a stupid lack of firearms making the toughness of hero more "heroic". one of the biggest problem I had with the story is why the kidnappers recruited from little town when coastal towns are much more practical.
