  • Latin flavor, Thai heat!

Just finished this B- action movie. and i have to say i liked it a lot!! Echavaria show he is indeed the new J.C. Van Damme(Average acting, Great fight scenes)But the coolest part has to be the chemistry between Echavaria and Kong Li(Kickboxer's Tong Po)They Try to Copy the Rush hour routine and succeed. Some scenes are very funny!! especially the car scene, Were echavaria Gives a great ricky martin impression(i laughed my ass off) you have to keep in mind that this was a pretty low Budget production, so all the credits go to the actors who really keep this one moving!! The direction is pretty good and especially the fight scenes at the end are the best i've seen in years! Latin Flavor All The WAY

  • Extreme Force is Extremely Extreme

This movie is the best movie ever made. If I were to rate this movie... with 1 being not so extreme, and 10 being extremely extreme I would definitely give this movie a 10. The only other thing I can think of off the top of my head that is actually better than this extremely original story-driven movie is Armen and Bullik (quite possibly the best TV show ever). I mean seriously there is no movie better than this one. It has everything you could possibly ask for in a movie. Drama, Action, Suspense, Supreme Martial Arts tactics... I mean everything! This movie is a must see!

  • This is pathetic and an utter waste of time!!!!

It was last night that I got around to seeing this film. I expected something of a martial arts fest and I was right. But what was utterly disappointing was that it was topped off with so much useless garbage that I barely could keep watching. Michael Qissi, though he does and OK job with the stunt choreography, should not direct. He lacks the capability to direct others and the cinematography was totally sick. It is clearly evident that the guy had no proper experience directing a good movie. One thing props up in my mind every time I think about the film, the betrayal. The leads character is betrayed at the beginning of the story, a shot to the heart. However, instead of treating it with certain horror to it, the guy openly touches his wound and rather than show himself the blood, he holds it out for others to see, that too at full arms length. The martial arts are not too shabby but I was disappointed to find out that most of Qissi's martial arts focused on the sheer strength of the fighter. It is a well known fact, since the late Bruce Lee's time, that it does not matter how strong the opponent is, It matters how you quick you react and how fast you can move. Overall, I see that the movie is not for me nor for any fan of the true spirit of martial arts. However, if you want a story that can show you all the violence you want coupled with some extremely bad acting and direction, this should be at the top of your pick.

  • A cheesy B-movie for sure, but there's action a-plenty

A typically mindless and plot-free STV martial arts flick, with plenty of cheap fighting and little else to recommend it. Like most STV flicks these days, there are the usual round of betrayals, glamorous locations, and various real-life fighters/champs lining up to be beaten by the hero. Said hero is Argentinian-born Hector Echavarria (who popped up briefly in CRADLE 2 THE GRAVE) who is hilariously made up to look exactly like Bruce Willis in DIE HARD – same build, same haircut, even wearing the same white vest in one scene. Echavarria is a pretty poor actor but a fast moving fighter, using some excellent roundhouse kicks on his opponents in the many action sequences of the movie. Sure, it looks cheap all the way through, but at least it moves fast with plenty of incident. My only complaint was that it wasn't very violent, instead having that TV-film gloss to it. More bone-breaking would have been cool. Now, remember back in the good old days of action cinema and Van Damme's masterpiece, KICKBOXER? Remember the kick-ass baddie Tong Po, who was so good he came back in the sequel? Well, Tong Po is back, but this time his name's Kong Li! Just kidding, it is of course Michel Qissi hiding under a pseudonym. The best thing about this film is that Qissi dresses EXACTLY as Tong Po, right down to the bald head and ponytail, and similar style clothing, playing some kind of monk bodyguard to our hero. Well, truth be told, Qissi is the real hero here; I was cheering him on every second. Sure, Qissi is a little older…shorter than we remembered…a little bigger and perhaps has a few more wrinkles, but he still makes for an imposing presence. Not only that, he directed it too, and his direction isn't too bad at all. A shame that his son, Youssef, is cast as the baddie and is handsome but hopeless, but there you go. I noticed a couple of female Qissis also popped up as caterers, hmm nepotism anyone? Other distinguishing features: an endless bar-room brawl which kicks ass; an obvious double-cross which we saw coming at the beginning; endless sweating in a sauna; the sexy, skimpy Playboy playmate Nikki Lemke, who doesn't even go topless, and a British-accented villain who looks just like the bad guy outta TURKEY SHOOT. Still, endless fist-fights and kicking, not brilliant but not bad, makes for a passable slice of lowest budget entertainment yet.

  • So bad it's Hilarious.

My dad, massive action movie buff, hired this out as a zone-out, fight movie. I sat down to watch it with him because I had nothing better to do. I spent the first 20 minutes trying to figure out if this was a joke or not. Apparently they want you to, at least pretend to, take it seriously. Basically, the hero, a reformed Robin Hood-esquire thief, was betrayed by his partners and now is being hired to retrieve a seal, which they had stolen. The movie follows this hero, as he goes around beating up groups of stereotypical minorities, until he defeats his insane nemesis. I spent the whole time laughing at how utterly terrible it was, yet I enjoyed myself immensely. It's worth a watch, just for the ridiculousness of it.
