Making the Grade
When a high school English literature teacher takes maternity leave, substitute Josie Davis (as Molly Matson) arrives to fill out the year. She also fills out some tight skirts and blouses. Possibly psycho, due to weird flashbacks from an ugly childhood, Ms. Davis shows ample cleavage and a lot of leg. This teacher is so obviously looking for sex; we wonder why the administration didn't observe her more closely. There are dozens of older looking "teenagers" who notice Davis peddling her services. She watches handsome baseball star Cameron Deane Stewart (as Danny Campbell) at practice, and decides he is to be her seduction... This is the same plot as several TV movies, which seem to be recycled with one or two changes in character and setting. "Dirty Teacher" could have been improved by leaving off the "tease" opening, since it hints at an event which could (or should) be more uncertain. Also, Mr. Stewart is the conflicted protagonist instead of the one you're expecting, college-focused girlfriend Kelcie Stranahan (as Jamie Hall). The story doesn't make much of this, but it makes the movie's structure more interesting. The story sticks to formula and all the players, including director Doug Campbell and his crew, essay their roles well. ***** Dirty Teacher (3/30/13) Doug Campbell ~ Josie Davis, Kelcie Stranahan, Cameron Deane Stewart, Darlene Vogel
I actually enjoyed this movie.
I was watching TV. late at night last week with my wife. Not much on. Came across this one. At first it looked like a stupid "after school special" that they used to put on. Then my wife and I actually got into it at stayed up until at least 02:30 in the morning watching it. Of course it was very predictable, but at the same time the movie was very enjoyable. My wife and I just love these kind of movies that take place in a school type setting. They bring us back in time to when we were both in school. Some of the actors could not act at all. The police investigating the murders seemed to not even care that someone was murdered. Josie Davis from Charles in Charge was in this as the "Dirty Teacher". Overall not a bad movie to watch if there is nothing else on TV.
Unoriginal Pablum
From the first moment new teacher Ms. Matson (Josie Davis) sees Danny (Cameron Deane Stewart) on the baseball diamond, she knows what she wants. And so do we. Ms. Matson is a hard bodied TILF, packed into tight outfits. She also will not be denied. She sets out on a scorched-earth campaign to bring Danny under her spell, leaving damage in her wake. Danny's girlfriend is Jamie (Kellie Stranahan), a good student with a bright future. She and Danny are in Ms. Matson's literature class, allowing her to use her influence as a teacher to lure Danny and sidetrack Jamie. The entire story is predictable. Ms. Matson is creepy. Many scenes feel sterile. The classroom scenes are clichéd. All of the students are attractive. The players on the high school baseball team can't throw a ball. This television movie is guilty of being uninteresting.
Bad Even For Lifetime
Yes, even by the low standards of Lifetime's formulaic, crime dramas, this one is bad. Horrible Fatal Attraction rip-off (and there have been many of those) with no surprises, high school drama club-level acting and a terrible script. Don't let the title fool you--this is tame, TV-14 (I would have rated it PG) level stuff. In fact, it plays like one of those old, Afterschool Movies (don't have sex with your teacher, kids!) with just a bit of racy/violent stuff thrown in. Lifetime has made a few, somewhat-decent time-killers, but this is not one of them. I should have checked the IMDb rating before watching this crud, but it was on Amazon Prime (home of a lot of terrible movies), so I thought "why not." I owe the move one thing along those lines, though: after watching it, I decided not to subscribe to AP after my free trial ends, so Dirty Teacher ended up saving me $10.99 a month.
Come On Hands Up Who Watched It Because Of The Title ?
As I said earlier in one of my reviews today the lead headline in Britain today is a sleazy tale of a male teacher who eloped to France with his 15 year old girlfriend from class . After seeing the title I thought that's a very quick biopic , some of these film companies must have a superhuman ability to make a movie . As it turned out this wasn't a true life drama about a teacher abusing their trust in the worst way possible because if DIRTY TEACHER is a true life story I'd be applying to go back to school in America Of course if this was role reversal where the teacher was male and the pupil was female it'd be an entirely different film . I'm also guessing there's a problem with the casting . Imagine if the producer cast some grotesque goblin as Ms Molly Matson ? Again it'd be an entirely different film as Ms Matson tries to seduce Danny . If teenage boy were to be entirely honest they'd say that they probably find a Gorgon sexually attractive . As it stands Ms Matson is played by Josie Davis who is stunningly attractive , so much so that if Ms Matson offered a teenage boy sex he'd happily start without her . Perhaps mindful of this the story concerns itself with Danny's girlfriend Jamie being the victim of Ms Matson's twisted desire . It is after all a TVM produced for a female audience and a male audience who watch it will think back to their schooldays and lament that life isn't fair
