  • Who did it, or was it even done?

I had not heard of this film before I saw it listed in TV Guide for tonight (8/5/02) on the Lifetime channel. Any film with Richard Crenna draws my immediate attention. I was not disappointed; he gave his usual flawless performance. The actress who played his middle daughter gave a rather overwrought performance at times; however, if she actually did her own singing, she has a great voice. Angie Dickenson portrays a character one feels little sympathy for; therefore, when she turns up missing again, one does not really feel the loss--but can certainly sympathize with her distraught daughter. The rest of the film does indeed reveal deep family secrets. This film will keep you guessing.

  • Very interesting movie, keeps your attention.

I really enjoyed this movie, the actors are all great. At first you kind of find yourself feeling sorry for the mother, but as it progresses you realize it is her own doing that is making her so miserable. I have watched it 2-3 time and enjoyed each time. I usually do not watch anything I have seen before. I would love to know the song his daughter sang. I have watched this movie 2-3 times and the song eludes me each time. I try to see it in credits, but writing is too small. If anyone knows the song please help.I read in one of the other comments where someone thought she was a good singer, maybe that person can help me. I really was not able to get to many words to the song as I came into room just as she stopped sing, or the went to another scene.Thank you. mapa-2

  • FANTASTIC ACTING AND DRAMA IN THIS FILM!

    whpratt12003-07-20

Richard Crenna, "Body Heat" and Angie Dickinson "Dressed to Kill", gave a fantastic performance together as husband and wife. Whenever Angie appears in a film, you can count on a good performance and lots of action and drama. If it was not for these two actors appearing in this TV drama, the entire plot would fall on its face. The great sadness Richard Crenna was able to show the audience with his daughter and the great repect and love he had for her was great acting by a veteran actor who passed on to the higher stage in his life. Angie and Richard were a great fighting team as husband and wife. If you love these two actors, this is a classic TV show!

  • Good flick? Just the opposite!

Come on? FANTASTIC DRAMA ON SCREEN? Are you joking folks? I wouldn't put horrible Molly Gross to play even in school play! Where did these people learn acting? Borrowing some papers from their neighbors actor? Terrible plot, awful acting. Heh ... why do you take us for an imbeciles? What can I say more. I understand this is an TV production and the acting is not supposed to be the one from Citizen Kane. But nevertheless they should try it harder in order to earn their money. And apart from that what can be said IN 10 LINES for a simple movie like this? U wanna article in the morning paper? To say what? Worse film in the decade? OK, you want it - you got it!

  • Based on true story? SPOILER

    sheezhank22007-12-24

I was just watching a Forensic Files marathon on Court TV. The episode was identical to the plot of this movie, right down to the incest secret and the affair-with-the-sister subplot. I don't recall any Based on a True Story disclaimer, but the case does have MOW written all over it. Apparently it chronicles the real homicide of Ruby Morris by her husband Earl, sentenced to 25 years to life for her murder. Just goes to show you, truth can be stranger than fiction, because I thought the Lifetime plot was contrived and a more than "a stretch" insofar as believability goes. I'm with the other posters who said the acting was bad. I didn't notice it with all of the players, though. It was really the lead character, the daughter, whose performance was bad.
