  Craft: the California Beer Documentary is exactly what the title says it is: a look at the history and current state of beer making in California. The movie features interviews with dozens of brewers, business owners, consultants, writers and lobbyists. As a result, it is largely a collection of talking heads with lots of shots of delicious looking beer. The topics covered include how California is largely responsible for the current craft beer boom, the lack of competition (so far) among brewers, the dizzying growth of the industry and the struggles to comply with California's many regulations concerning alcohol. This is the type of the movie that will appeal more to fans of the subject. If you are not a craft beer drinker, this movie will not convert you, or probably not even interest you much. But personally, it made me want to take a month long vacation following the director's footsteps.
