review on this movie
I was planning to watch this movie for a long time. I remember Ibrahim Celikkol (Ali) when he acted in one of Turkish soap opera. Great actor! I absolutely love this movie. Different from I've seen before. The story is awesome.. I literally cried from 50:00 to the end of the movie. I was never so stunned by a movie. i thought that there won't be happy end, i thought Ali was dead, but he wasn't. i love that it isn't a stupid American movie which you can know what's happening and that you even didn't watch it. A beautiful romantic movie, perfect for romantic movie lovers. you should definitely watch it ! i recommend it to all! top 1 on my movie list!10/10 for this beautiful movie! you'll cry like you never cried before...
Absolutely Perfect
Great movie. This is one of the best movies I have ever watched lately. I was totally captivated from beginning to end. Also, I am so against comparing with the Korean version of 'Always', due to different places, cultures, and identities in the countries. Story was amazing first of all. The stars acted amazing, can't be expected more. Definitely, it will be my number one Turkish movie after now. "Ellerinize Saglik"
A Masterpiece! Awesome! 10+ stars!
Lately I have discovered that watching foreign films with subtitles has given me the opportunity to enjoy some above average cinematic entertainment. This is one of the best movies I have ever watched. I was totally captivated from beginning to end. I was only into this movie (Netflix) about 15 minutes when I realized I was watching a masterpiece. There was only one swear word in the whole movie with no nudity. So tasteful and refreshing. There is some violence, but not gratuitous, and only in part of the movie. Don't let the opening scene shock you away. This movie has a beautiful and uplifting ending. Kudos to the director and production team. They deserve it. I would never have thought I would love a movie made in of all places, Turkey!
Hollywood doesn't make this kind of movies anymore....
I must confess that now at my age, I'm not a movie buff of romantic movies or even Nicholas Sparks book's adaptation to the cinema , but until now for me the epitome of a romantic movie was always the famous " Message in a bottle " ,a 1999 movie staring by Kevin Costner, Robin Wright Penn and Paul Newman. But I suppose that my attitude is very influenced by the common sentence that " they ( Hollywood ) does not make this kind of movies anymore ". Well... until now ! But it doesn't came from Hollywood, but from a far away eastern European land - Istambul on Turkey! And it came with all the ingredients to make a delicious recipe, romantic movie style! 1 - the story - not a superlative one , but typical of a romantic movie with a lot of twists. 2 - Cinematography - close ups and landscapes , a marvelous job of contrasts. That frame with the couple near a dry tree in the middle of the sea is like a poem. 3 - Soundtrack - absolute divine, mainly Cent Celebioglu's tracks, a young Turkish composer.Take a look to the final theme. It is just amazing! It can't be better. 4 - And the last but not the least, the acting . A romantic movie may have all this previous characteristics, but if it hasn't a couple, with impressive screen presence , and a natural ability to performed it , what we usually call it a " great chemistry " , falls down on the floor. And Sadece Sen has it...and has it a lot! Belcim Bilgin, the Julia Roberts from middle orient , perform the role of a beautiful blind girl in a natural way. We even forgot that we are looking at a non-disable woman . Her eyes are full stopped in every frame. Ibrahim Celikkol, the ultimate romantic hero of Turkish films, excels on a role with extreme emotions, without saying too much lines, just a performance using facial expressions, body language and mainly his eyes. Also the tone of his voice reflects perfectly the emotions to transmit to the viewer. His eyes reflects everything, from deep suffer to the greatest happiness. 5 - two of the most adorable puppies that I've saw in a movie -the dog Simal and the turtle , representing each one a member of the couple. The circle is full only in the last scene.
A perfect film
I am totally won over by this wonderful film. The two lead actors are so special - what a chemistry there is between them (I also fell for them in Kordugum TV series until the writers did their worst!). The writing arc hit the spot. We are in the present, prosaically at the start, then slowly the layers of back-story are revealed. Is Turkish cinematography noticeably one of its great strengths? The TV series above I viewed after this masterful production seems to confirm that. One issue I would take up with one of the reviewers, is the opinion that 'coincidences' were contrived; I don't agree. It could be expected that that ending sequence would quite logically happen. Normal? - not contrived soapiness! No, I haven't seen the Korean version. I would suggest that some of 'boxer' scenes in mid-film are rather unpleasant, although integral and of kay importance. Eyes shut for me!
