Hood (2015) Reviews
Good Story. Solid Acting
I really liked it. Solid Story. Action was a little lacking in budget. But the premise and the executions was really good. I think that people are being harsh on this for no particular reason. You're gonna tell me that Malik Yoba wasn't great. He was. Matt Singletary- Solid lead. Nation- Great villain. The Alderman - that guy can really act. Marion was good. Her mom was good. Little John was kind of the heart of it all. Stop being goofy. Give it a shot. Watch it all the way thru and you will see there is some great stuff here. The message is OUTSTANDING. The acting is REALLY good. It was worth my money and time. That's all I ask for. Particularly of an indie flick. Don't listen to nonsense. Give it a watch.
RITUALS AND SACRIFICE
Matt Singletary comes across like Vin Diesel with soul. The production incorporates a faith based message which accounts for the many rave reviews. However as an action film, it lacks scenes that show action. The opening Afghanistan scene was horrible. What was with his conflict with his superior that never circled back into the film? The violence is toned down to where we don't see most of the blows, just guys falling over. The sound quality wasn't great which was noticeable on the inside shots, especially the restaurant scene. If you are looking for an action film, keep going. If you want a pseudo-action faith based film with no swearing, sex, or nudity, and quality is not an issue, this is it.
