SYNOPSICS

Four friends are about to graduate from university and ostensibly journey on to the rest of their lives. But they are confused about their own futures and are not ready to enter real adulthood, which to them means work, family and responsibilities. Their classmate Lok is notorious within their university for trying to hit on girls by saying that he is a filmmaker. He is then expelled by the university right before graduation. The four friends decide to copy the idea and take it even further. They concoct an elaborate plan to hire a Japanese AV actress to "act" in their fake film, but of course this is only an excuse to have sex with her.

Raunchy Hong Kong Comedy
Comedy is a difficult thing to translate in my opinion. Many jokes can be lost in the translation and also you may need to know the customs of the country being translated to fully understand the joke. There are 2 forms of comedy that do translate well and they are physical humour/slapstick and ones based on a universal theme. Thankfully, this film uses the oldest theme of all...SEX. Calling this a Hong Kong American Pie/Porky's is unfair, as I laughed at this film more than those 2 films put together. The story is about 4 HK guys making a fake porn film starring a Japanese AV girl (AV girl being equivalent to an American Porn star) so that they can all get laid. They have to raise HK$200,000 (around £14,400) to bring her over from Japan, setup the film shoot and crew just to do all this. Sure, they could probably just go to a prostitute and it would be a lot cheaper, but not many hookers would be as cute as real-life Japanese AV girl Amamiya Manami. The film is consistently funny with some very raunchy humour for a HK movie but it is handled reasonably tastefully with excellent performances from all of the leads. Interestingly, 2 of the leads are members of HK boy band 'Shine'. I could never see any members of boy bands from this country or the US being involved in a film of this sort starring with an actual porn star who acquits herself so well in the acting department (and hopefully we never will). Also, I can fully recommend the 2-Disc HK DVD, which includes a fully subtitled video commentary from the director and cast.
A Dark Comedy with Morals to be learned
This movie exceeds any Teen movie from America i have ever seen, it shouldn't even be compared. This movie does have a lot of Nudity yes, very true, but boobs only and nothing else not only that. The movie was able to make a Porn stars life very sentimental and interesting and it wasn't even unbalanced like "The Girl Next Door" This movie had a very steady pace and had it's comedic moments when the Teenagers wanted to have sex with a pornstar therefore used all there brainpower and ingenuity and the characters Themselves realised it. Therefore they realised that if they input there brainpower and ingenuity to other forms of work they can make it! They can do something with there lifes. Not only that This movie is a lot more like a Drama then a Comedy, The moments where one of the friends fell in love with the porn star had a lot of Puppy Love and Sentimental moments where there acting shines and you got to know the characters much more. This movie also shows better emotions of how the friends Friendship and cares for each other in comedic ways. This movie is very well done, it's not the most stylistic but the story is there, do not be fooled with the title of the movie, if you don't mind Boobs then you wouldn't mind this movies Nudity. The Jokes aren't even over the top like American Pie or Teen movies made in America. There more realistic like how one would that to there friend about sex. Very well done 9/10 for me!
A down to earth message plated up perfectly
This film is unique in that at its core it is a moral and inspirational message that is not at all subtle and is aimed directly at an audience preoccupied with sex and lacking responsibility. What i find amazing is that the superficial cusp of the film draws this audience in perfectly to learn a lesson they normally avoid hearing in a very honest unfancifull way. Even if you don't want to learn a lesson this film is worth watching just for its mature realistic comedy that does not patronize its young audience in the way American teenage comedy so readily does. In the end this film promises nudity and sex and delivers with out condition. I wont deny its what drew me in by chance only to be pleasantly surprised to find the movie itself far more interesting.
Another teen movie
You will not come to understand the quote "When I believe I am so important to the world, In fact the world just forgives my silliness." made by Amamiya Minami, who is the only actress of the movie, until the last minutes of the film. The four main actors of the movie, who are all 20-some college-students and wanna do something unusual to their plain lives, decided to make an adult movie themselves. They invited Amamiya Minami, who is an actual adult movie actress, to Hongkong to f**k with them and make the shot. And during the process of filming the 4 all believed Minami fell in love with them. Finally they found that... If you're just interested in seeing some nudity (I wonder who will go to see this movie for this), you will be disappointed. This is just another teen movie.
flawed,but who cares
This film is about young men, and it is like a young man, flawed, but astonishing! Personally, I love this film and I have seen it for six times. Every time, with different people. I can hardly recall the last time I recommended a film so much. 'When you begin to believe you are important to this world, the world is just beginning to forgive you for your childishness.' I can sense why the director wants us to know this. Facing the world, we are always too small, but usually I will never believe or understand how small and weak we are because we are too simple-minded, too childish. To a certain extent, the world itself is like a AV girl. You may find she's innocent, naive and trusty. You are fooled, the innocent, naive and trusty girl is not her, but you. Many scenes are really amazing and funny, but there are still holes. For instance, why do four university students decide to raise so much money on that kind of thing so easily? This seems to be unreal. However, just as the title goes, flawed, but who cares? It's beautiful.
